They come from 24,267 public GitHub repositories and 17,262 authors. 18 of them come from Anthropic's own repositories; everything else is community-published. Catalog numbers are written into this page at build time and the site rebuilds after every crawl, so they are at most a few hours old. Traffic numbers below load live.

How we count
A crawler runs on a schedule over public GitHub looking for SKILL.md files, agent definition files and
.claude/commands/ files. Each file becomes one entry, so a repository that publishes twelve skills counts
twelve times here and once under "source repos". Entries are deduplicated by slug and name: when the same skill
turns up in two collections, the copy from the repository with more stars is kept and the other is dropped.
Not everything found is listed. A quality gate scores each entry out of 100 and quarantines anything under 40: bulk-generated templates, MCP servers mislabelled as skills, entries whose description is just their name, and files with no content behind them. The formula is on the about page. The totals above count listed entries only.
"Official" means the entry comes from Anthropic's own repositories. "Authors" are distinct GitHub owners of the source repositories. Nothing here is a download or install count; the site has none and does not estimate them. The catalog is updated every few hours; the Atom feed lists new entries as they land.
