README

gnome-ai-usage

Claude Code and Codex CLI usage limits on the GNOME top bar: the 5-hour session and the weekly limit, in percent, for every account you are logged into.

Work and personal profiles grouped on the top bar, with a separate icon color for each group:

![Top bar with Claude and Codex paired in work and personal groups](docs/screenshots/top-bar-groups.png)

The menu follows the same groups and colors. Expand an account for its limits, reset times, and top bar toggle:

Screenshots use example accounts.

  • Each account shows its 5-hour % (bright) and weekly % (dim). Yellow at 75 %, red at 90 %.
  • The menu shows every limit the API reports (including per-model weekly caps and extra usage) with time to reset.
  • "Show on top bar" picks which accounts sit on the bar. By default it shows the first Claude and the first Codex account.
  • Profiles that share a name (claude-work and codex-work) sit together in one frame on the bar and in one section of the menu. The first group keeps the panel color; the others tint their icons (purple, blue, green, teal). Settings → Top bar colors changes them.
  • Data refreshes every 5 minutes. "Refresh now" updates it immediately.

Choose a custom icon color for each group in the extension preferences, or reset it to the automatic color:
