Vortex Dispatch — AI skill for Claude Code

AI community

Hand off a coding requirement and watch AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) ship merged PRs (if you choose).

How to install Vortex Dispatch

This entry records only its repository, not the path inside it, so there is no exact command to give. Open tzone85/vortex-dispatch and copy the folder into ~/.claude/skills/, or the file into ~/.claude/agents/.

What Vortex Dispatch does

Hand off a coding requirement and watch AI agents (Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI) ship merged PRs (if you choose). Decomposes the work, runs stories in parallel git worktrees with per-story ephemeral Postgres, reviews and tests every change, escalates failures through 5 tiers, merges what passes. Event-sourced, Go, Mac/Linux.

VXD is an open-source AI coding-agent orchestrator built by [Vortex Dispatch](https://vortexdispatch.co.za). It coordinates tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI across the lifecycle of a software change: planning, parallel implementation, review, QA and delivery.

VXD is useful on its own. It is also intentionally the **public core**, not a publication of every private production system, commercial policy or accumulated engineering technique used by Vortex Dispatch. Read the [open-core boundary](docs/OPEN_CORE.md) or the [public explanation](https://vortexdispatch.co.za/open-source).

Why VXD

A strong coding model can write code. The harder problem is coordinating many pieces of engineering work without turning the repository into a small electrical fire.

VXD adds the orchestration layer:

  • Dependency-aware planning turns a requirement into stories that can run in parallel where possible.
  • Isolated git worktrees keep concurrent agents from trampling each other's changes.
  • Pluggable agent runtimes let teams use the coding CLIs they already prefer.
  • Automated review and QA validate work before delivery.
  • Escalation and human gates give failed or uncertain work somewhere sane to go.
  • Event-sourced state makes runs inspectable, resumable and replayable.
  • TUI and web dashboards make active requirements observable without living in terminal scrollback.
  • Optional ephemeral databases isolate database-touching stories from one another.
