README

meeting-memo

A [Claude skill](https://docs.claude.com/en/docs/agents-and-tools/agent-skills/overview) that turns a meeting transcript, rough notes or a few keywords into a clean, minimal meeting memo, delivered as both **.docx** and **.pdf**.

The memo includes:

  • Date, time, location, attendees (grouped by organization) and who prepared it
  • A short summary, key points and decisions
  • Action items: what our side has to do, with owner and deadline
  • Requests from client: what the client asked for and how we responded
  • Our requests to client: what the client owes us, with contact and due date
  • Open questions and the next meeting

Missing owners and deadlines show as *Unassigned* and *TBD* instead of being guessed. Relative dates such as "by Friday" are converted to real dates using the meeting date.

See [`examples/`](examples/) for a sample transcript and the memo it produces ([PDF](examples/sample-memo.pdf)).

Install

👋 **New to this?** Follow the step-by-step **[setup guide](INSTALL.md)**. It needs no coding.

**Claude.ai / Claude desktop** – download **[meeting-memo.zip](https://github.com/tehan11109/meeting-memo/releases/latest/download/meeting-memo.zip)** and upload it under *Settings → Capabilities → Skills*.

**Claude Code** – clone into your skills folder:

git clone https://github.com/tehan11109/meeting-memo ~/.claude/skills/meeting-memo

The render script needs Python 3 with `python-docx` and `reportlab`:

pip install python-docx reportlab

Usage

Paste or attach a transcript and ask for a memo, for example *"Make a meeting memo from this call transcript"*. Claude extracts the content into `memo.json` and runs:

python scripts/render_memo.py memo.json --out-dir ./memos

This writes `Meeting-Memo__.docx` and `.pdf`. The JSON format is documented in [`SKILL.md`](SKILL.md).
