**Public alpha.** Core workflows are usable day-to-day, but flag names, JQL defaults, and memory schema may still change.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

Python 3.9+ with pip and venv.
A JIRA account — either JIRA Cloud (Atlassian-hosted, including custom vanity domains like jira.mycompany.com) or JIRA Server / Data Center.
One coding CLI on your PATH — any of claude, codex, or cursor-agent. Watcher shells out to it; you keep your existing subscription and auth.
A JIRA credential appropriate to your flavor (see Configuration).

You do **not** need a separate Anthropic, OpenAI, or Cursor API key.
