README

FB Ad Intel — Competitor Ad Research on Autopilot

Paste a Facebook Ad Library link into Claude Code and get back a formatted spreadsheet with every active ad your competitor is running: the ad copy, the images, and **word-for-word transcripts of their video ads** — the same competitive research an agency would charge thousands for.

Everything comes from Meta's own public [Ad Library](https://www.facebook.com/ads/library/) — the transparency tool where Meta publishes every ad running on its platforms. 100% public data.

What you need

  1. Claude Code (the desktop app or CLI — requires a Claude plan that includes it)
  2. Google Chrome with the Claude in Chrome extension connected (recommended; Claude Code's built-in browser also works)
  3. Python 3.10+ on your machine (Mac: already installed; Windows: python.org)

Setup (one time, ~5 minutes)

  1. Copy this whole fb-ad-intel folder into your Claude skills folder:
    • Mac: ~/.claude/skills/fb-ad-intel
    • Windows: C:\Users\\.claude\skills\fb-ad-intel
  2. Open Claude Code and say: "Set up the fb-ad-intel skill" Claude runs the installer for you (downloads the transcription engine — the first video you ever transcribe also downloads a speech model, so run your first scrape on a small competitor).

That's it. No API keys. No accounts. Transcription runs locally on your machine, free.

Using it

Go to [facebook.com/ads/library](https://www.facebook.com/ads/library/), search your competitor's page, copy the URL, and tell Claude:

Scrape this competitor's FB ads: [paste URL]

Claude loads every ad, downloads the creatives, transcribes every video, and hands you a spreadsheet with four tabs: **Summary** (stats + funnel breakdown), **Ads** (every ad with full copy and transcripts), **Ad Images** (the actual creatives embedded), and **Video Transcriptions** (timestamped scripts).
