NVIDIA hosts 100+ open models on its [NIM API](https://build.nvidia.com) – DeepSeek V4, Nemotron 3, Kimi K3, GLM 5, Llama 4 – with a free tier: no credit card, no token quota, rate-limited per model. `nimctl` turns that free tier into a working **Claude Code backend**, **VS Code in the browser with an AI assistant** and a **local chat with document upload** in a few minutes, then keeps them running while the catalog changes underneath.

Then `nimctl code` inside a project, `nimctl ide` for VS Code in the browser, `nimctl chat` for the chat, `nimctl` for the dashboard. That is the whole workflow.
