Claude Account Sync Skill — Development skill for Claude Code

Development community

A Claude Code skill that keeps the Claude desktop app's Code sidebar identical across several Claude accounts on one Mac: the same session list, pins, order, custom groups and archive state.

How to install Claude Account Sync Skill

This entry records only its repository, not the path inside it, so there is no exact command to give. Open parousia8888/-claude-account-sync-skill and copy the folder into ~/.claude/skills/, or the file into ~/.claude/agents/.

README

claude-account-sync

A Claude Code skill that keeps the **Claude desktop app's Code sidebar identical across several Claude accounts on one Mac**: the same session list, pins, order, custom groups and archive state. When you log out and back in with another account, every session is still there and continues where it left off, instead of an empty sidebar.

Why it is possible

Claude Code keeps conversation transcripts, `~/.claude/CLAUDE.md` and auto-memory under `~/.claude`, keyed by project path, not by account. Only the desktop app's sidebar is stored per account:

What Where
One sidebar entry per session (title, pin, ordering timestamps, archive state, model, permission mode) ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions///local_*.json
Archive index, routines same directory: archived-sessions.idx, scheduled-tasks.json
Custom groups, section order, folder permission modes claude_desktop_config.json → preferences.epitaxyPrefs (keyed by account)

The skill picks one account's directory as the **primary** and turns every other linked account's directory into a symlink to it, so there is only ever one session list. Group preferences are merged across accounts after the app quits, because the app rewrites its config file while it runs. Every write is preceded by a backup.

Requirements

  • macOS with the Claude desktop app (Code tab).
  • python3 (the macOS system Python 3.9 is fine). No dependencies.

Install

git clone https://github.com/parousia8888/-claude-account-sync-skill.git ~/.claude/skills/claude-account-sync

The directory name must be `claude-account-sync`. Start a new Claude Code session afterwards so the skill is picked up.

Use

Say "switch account" (or 切号) in a Code session before you switch. The agent will:

  1. show which accounts are linked and what is pending (status);
  2. the first time you are logged in with a new account, ask you
