README

OpenWeft — coding-agent batch scheduling and recovery

OpenWeft is a batch scheduler and recovery layer for coding agents. It turns **a backlog into durable Work Briefs and plans, schedules tasks by declared file overlap, runs them in Git worktrees through Codex CLI or Claude Code, and tracks execution and merge recovery on disk.**

**Queue the work. Track the run. Review the commits.**

**It runs on your existing subscription by default. No API keys required unless you opt into API-key auth.**

Use it when you want one repeatable workflow for planning a batch, ordering its execution, merging results, and recovering interrupted work. The selected coding agent investigates and edits; OpenWeft manages the queue, Git operations, and saved state.

**Architecture deep dive:** See [ARCHITECTURE.md](./ARCHITECTURE.md) for the planning pipeline, scoring algorithm, scheduler, recovery mechanisms, and validation boundaries.

openweft add "refactor auth middleware"
openweft add "add audit log export"
openweft start

Illustrative status output:

$ openweft status
