linkedin-post-writer-and-validator
A Claude Code skill for writing and validating LinkedIn posts optimized for reach.
The problem
Most people who sit down to write a LinkedIn post get stuck — not because they don't have something to say, but because they don't know *how* to say it in a way that actually gets read.
They write something honest and thoughtful, hit publish, and get 12 impressions.
Meanwhile, posts that feel shallower somehow reach thousands.
The gap isn't authenticity — it's structure. LinkedIn's algorithm rewards specific patterns: a hook that stops the scroll, white space that invites mobile readers, a closing question that pulls comments. Without knowing these patterns, good ideas get buried.
On top of that, LinkedIn silently penalizes posts that contain URLs — even implied ones. A pattern like `bit.ly` or `go.co` in the body of a post is auto-hyperlinked by LinkedIn and triggers a reach penalty of up to 60%. Most people never know why their post underperformed.
There's also a quieter problem at the top of the post. LinkedIn cuts the hook at the "See more" button based on physical pixel width on the phone, not on a character count. A "W" takes about four times the width of an "I", so a hook written to a character limit breaks mid-word on mobile and the tension leaks out before the tap.
And now there's a newer trap: posts that *sound* AI-generated. As more of the feed is drafted by language models, readers have learned to spot the tells — the uniform rhythm, the "tapestry of robust, seamless solutions" lexicon, the "Here's the thing..." openers, the "it's not X, it's not Y, it's Z" drama. The brain flags those patterns as marketing spam and keeps scrolling. Polished, machine-sounding posts see engagement around 0.4%, while imperfect, human-sounding ones get several times more.
