README

q-claude-code-setup

Three Claude Code features almost nobody uses, configured. Drop this setup in and your terminal does more for you in 20 minutes than most builders ever set up.

The difference between using Claude Code and running on Claude Code is whether you've configured these or not.

What's in here

Feature What it does
Statusline A customizable line at the bottom of your Claude Code terminal showing model, tokens left, current directory, git branch, and the file you're working on
/resume cheatsheet The command that lets you pick any past Claude Code session and continue exactly where you left off
/script command A custom slash command that drafts content in your voice using your context files (me.md, hooks-library.md, etc.)

All three are real, all three are shipped, all three take under 20 minutes to set up. Everything below works on macOS. Linux works with one tweak (noted inline). Windows hasn't been tested.

1. The statusline

A customizable line at the bottom of your Claude Code terminal. Mine shows model, tokens left, current directory, git branch, and the file Claude has touched most recently in the session.

Install (5 minutes)

**Step 1**: install `jq` if you don't have it. The statusline script uses it to parse the JSON that Claude Code pipes in.

brew install jq

Check it worked:

which jq

You should see something like `/opt/homebrew/bin/jq` or `/usr/bin/jq`.

**Step 2**: drop the shell script into `~/.claude/`.

mkdir -p ~/.claude

Then save [`statusline.sh`](statusline.sh) to `~/.claude/statusline.sh`. The simplest way:

curl -o ~/.claude/statusline.sh https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kju4q/q-claude-code-setup/main/statusline.sh

(Or copy-paste the file from this repo into a new file at `~/.claude/statusline.sh`.)

Make it executable:

chmod +x ~/.claude/statusline.sh

**Step 3**: tell Claude Code to use the script.
