README
Codey Skills
Skills that [Codey](https://github.com/its-ahoh/codey) installs for coding agents.
A skill is one directory with a `SKILL.md`. Only its `description` stays in an agent's context; the body, and any files beside it, are read when a task actually needs them. Every agent Codey runs discovers skills through `.claude/skills` or `.agents/skills`, so one skill reaches Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and pi alike — including agents with no MCP support at all.
Plugins
Skills that document a capability the Codey Mac app provides. Each one only works inside Codey, which hands the agent the tool it describes.
| Plugin | What it does |
|---|---|
| `browser` | Drive the user-visible Codey Browser: open, read, screenshot and click through pages, including pages behind the user's existing logins. |
| `chrome-companion` | Drive the user's real Google Chrome through the Codey Chrome Companion extension, using their existing windows, tabs and logins. |
Skill packs
Codey does not publish general skills or skill packs. Import the ones you want from their own source: in the Codey Mac app, **Tools → Skills → Codey → Add → Skill pack**, then paste a git URL, a GitHub folder link or a local folder. For pstack that is `https://github.com/cursor/plugins/tree/main/pstack`. Every skill in the pack goes into `~/.codey/skills//`, where every agent finds it.
pstack used to be copied into this repository. It was removed so it is read from its upstream, and so the one copy users install is the author's own.
Installing
From the Codey Mac app: **Tools → Plugins → Install**. That writes the skill into `~/.codey/skills//` and links it into every agent's discovery directory. Once installed the copy is yours — the Skills tab can turn it off or delete it, and Codey will not rewrite it.
By hand, without the app:
git clone https://github.com/its-ahoh/codey-skills.git
cp -R code
