Claude Code research workflow tool that auto-configures library-specific sub-agents via [Context7](https://context7.com).

**Requirements:** [Claude Code](https://claude.ai/code) CLI installed

Quick Start

cd your-project
npx claude-docs
claude /sync-docs

What It Does

`claude-docs` sets up your project for AI-powered documentation research:

  1. Configures Context7 MCP server automatically
  2. Installs slash commands (/sync-docs, /research)
  3. Creates base research agents for codebase exploration
  4. Installs a library-research skill for auto-routing

Then `claude /sync-docs`:

  • Scans package.json / requirements.txt for dependencies
  • Validates each library against Context7
  • Generates @research-{library} agents with Context7 patterns

How Routing Works

Question mentions a library?
├─► YES: Use @research-{library}
│ └─► No agent? Check Context7, suggest /sync-docs
└─► NO: Use @codebase-locator first
└─► Found libraries? Route to their agents
└─► No libraries? Use codebase agents or web search

**Priority order:**

  1. Library-specific agents (@research-react, etc.)
  2. Context7 direct query
  3. Codebase agents (@codebase-locator, @codebase-analyzer)
  4. Web search (fallback for topics not in Context7)

Installation

cd your-project
npx claude-docs

You'll be prompted for a Context7 API key (optional, increases rate limits). Get one free at **[context7.com/dashboard](https://context7.com/dashboard)**.

This creates:

  • .mcp.json - Context7 MCP server configuration
  • .claude/commands/ - /sync-docs and /research commands
  • .claude/agents/ - Base research agents
  • .claude/skills/ - Library research skill (auto-triggers for library questions)
