Odek — Development skill for Claude Code

Development community

odek: a tiny native macOS terminal for working alongside coding agents, with a built-in code viewer.

How to install Odek

This entry records only its repository, not the path inside it, so there is no exact command to give. Open HikvIneH/odek and copy the folder into ~/.claude/skills/, or the file into ~/.claude/agents/.

What Odek does

odek: a tiny native macOS terminal for working alongside coding agents, with a built-in code viewer. Rust + AppKit, about a fifth of Warp's memory: grouped tabs, split panes, Claude Code ready, VS Code keys and Vim mode in the viewer.

Why

A working day can mean several coding agents running at once, each in its own terminal, with a quick look at the code now and then. Terminals that draw with their own GPU renderer and ship AI and cloud features tend to sit at several hundred megabytes and grow into gigabytes after a long session. On an 8 GB laptop that is memory your builds and browsers need.

odek does the everyday job with what macOS already has. AppKit and Core Text draw every character, so there is no renderer, font engine or UI toolkit of its own to keep in memory. A terminal cell takes 8 bytes, colours are stored once, and scrollback has a hard cap, so memory stays flat no matter how much output a session produces.
