README

agent-charts

Inline charts for coding agents in the terminal: a plugin for the [OpenCode](https://opencode.ai) v2 TUI and another for [Claude Code](https://claude.com/claude-code), sharing one chart engine. Ask your agent for a chart and it draws it right in the conversation, using braille dots, eighth blocks and half-block pixels on the terminal grid. There are no images, no external tools and no runtime dependencies, so it works over SSH too.

(Formerly `opencode-charts`; the old GitHub URLs redirect here.)

The model writes a JSON spec in a fenced ` ```chart ` block:

```chart
{"type":"line","title":"Inflation vs Fed target (YoY %)","unit":"%",
 "series":[{"name":"CPI","data":[["2024-01",3.1],["2024-02",3.2],…]},{"name":"Core","data":[…]}],
 "refs":[{"y":2,"label":"target"}]}
```

and the plugin paints it inside a card that follows your theme (dark or light):

line chart with two series and a reference line

Install

Claude Code

At the prompt of a Claude Code session:

/plugin install charts --marketplace hashd1ve/agent-charts

Answer `y` to add the marketplace, then pick a scope. The plugin draws ```` ```chart ```` blocks in Claude's replies (in the terminal; other surfaces show the JSON as code) and adds the chart cheat sheet to the system prompt, so Claude knows the format. Colors map onto Claude Code's theme keys (`claude`, `success`, `error`, `subtle`…), so charts follow `/theme`.

OpenCode

  1. Clone the repo and copy the plugin into your OpenCode config:

    git clone https://github.com/hashd1ve/agent-charts && cd agent-charts
    bun scripts/install.ts # → ~/.config/opencode/plugins/charts (backs up any previous copy)
  2. List it in `~/.config/opencode/cli.json`:

    { "plugins": ["~/.config/opencode/plugins/charts"] }
  3. Restart OpenCode. Running TUIs hot-reload the plugin when its files change.
