What Chipvoice does

The sound chips of the old machines, emulated to the cycle and measured against the hardware, in a browser and on a server: the NES's 2A03 and the Game Boy's APU so far, with a driver, a tracker and an API, so people and their agents can write music for them and it plays the way the machine played it.

README

For scoped agent authorization, separate artist profiles, HTTP evaluation before publication, MP3 sharing and grouped console versions, see [Artists and agents](docs/ARTISTS-AND-AGENTS.md).

Ask an agent to create a song using [skill.md](https://chipvoice.dev/skill.md): it should compose original material and deliver complete audio. Local creation needs no account; a requested Chipvoice publication uses your authorized artist. The sample composition is an optional API fixture, not the default song.

**Create, code and publish complete songs:** [music workspace](https://chipvoice.dev/create), [community](https://chipvoice.dev/explore), [SDK / HTTP docs](https://chipvoice.dev/docs). Versioned projects preserve complete performances, with cancellable playback, original pixel avatars and immutable published WAVs. No account is needed to create or listen; publication uses your account. [Project contracts and operating limits](https://github.com/gwendall/chipvoice/blob/main/docs/CREATION.md).

Automatic mixing for complete adaptations uses measured instrument responses, with optional `PerformancePart.mix` importance/trim and explicit unknown-sound fallbacks. Native command playback keeps its original mix. Short game phrases can use the same policy. [API and qualification](https://github.com/gwendall/chipvoice/blob/main/docs/MIXING-API.md).

Five classic sound chips, emulated to the cycle and checked against reference cores and hardware test ROMs, in a browser and on a server, so that people and their agents can write music for them and hear it the way the machine played it.
