Loan Policy Assistant

A student loan policy assistant on Amazon Bedrock. It answers borrower questions only from policy documents, cites them, masks personal identifiers, refuses credit decisions and investment advice, and blocks any answer the documents don't support.

Design choices

Guardrail on both sides of the model. ApplyGuardrail runs on the question before Claude sees it and on the answer before the user does. Denied topics never cost a model call.
Contextual grounding as the last gate. The answer is checked against the passages the tool actually retrieved. Claude writes plain facts only; sources and the "confirm on StudentAid.gov" note are added in code, because extra wording
