README

platoon

**Mission control for Claude Code and Codex.**

One list of every Claude Code and Codex session across all your folders. Search them, archive them, and see at a glance which ones need you. Group work into projects whose shared notes grow as you work and reach every session in the project. Hand tasks to squads: repeatable workflows designed for one kind of work, like a feature, a bug fix or a review, each done only when a reviewing agent agrees the work does what you asked.

platoon works with [Claude Code](https://docs.anthropic.com/en/docs/claude-code) and [Codex](https://github.com/openai/codex), on Linux and macOS. Have either one, or both: their conversations share one list, and everything below works with each, but for the status line and the names of a task's helpers at work, which only Claude Code has. With both installed, either can be switched off in platoon's settings. → [Switching a program off](guide/settings-and-keys.md#switching-a-program-off)

What it does

  • One list of every conversation, across every folder: what it's called, whether it's working, waiting for you or finished, its model, how full its context is, and your plan usage. Search them, rename them, archive the ones you're done with. → Sessions
  • Sessions keep running after you close platoon. Open one again from platoon, or from any terminal with platoon open, and several windows can share it live. → Sessions
  • Projects group conversations from as many folders as you like. A project's notes reach every one of its sessions, and can keep themselves up to date as you work. When a conversation gets long, hand the work on to a fresh session with one key. → Projects
  • Tasks and squads: write down a piece of work as a task (or press t on a session and Claude or Codex draft
