How to install Cyberbrain Light
This entry records only its repository, not the path inside it, so there is no
exact command to give. Open bassprofressor-lab/cyberbrain-light and copy the folder into
~/.claude/skills/, or the file into ~/.claude/agents/.
What Cyberbrain Light does
Cited, trust-tiered memory for AI coding agents. One 5 MB binary, keyword search over plain Markdown notes, no model to place and no network code in the graph. The light sibling of Cyberbrain.

Cyberbrain Light
**Cited, trust-tiered memory for AI coding agents. One small binary, keyword search, nothing to set up.**

Your agent forgets everything between sessions. Light gives it notes that survive: plain Markdown in your repository, keyword search over them, and every hit carrying a citation that resolves back to the exact block it came from. Five megabytes, no model to place, no service to run, no configuration to get right first.
$ cbl recall 'postgres data directory'

# PostgreSQL 18 moves PGDATA
The official `postgres:18` image puts the data directory at
`/var/lib/postgresql/18/docker` instead of `/var/lib/postgresql/data` ...
caveat: search is lexical: it matches the words in the text, not the meaning.
The caveat is not an apology, it is the contract. Light searches for words. It says so on every result, so nobody builds on a search that did not happen.
Install
$ cargo install cyberbrain-light
$ cbl init
$ cbl install # writes the two hooks into .claude/settings.json
The crate is `cyberbrain-light`, the binary it puts on your path is `cbl`.
Or take a binary from the [latest release](https://github.com/bassprofressor-lab/cyberbrain-light/releases/latest) and check it against the `SHA256SUMS` that ships beside it:
