FinPilot: personal finance decision-support agent

Upload bank or card statements and FinPilot shows where your money goes, finds recurring payments, flags unusual spending, tracks budgets and goals, and answers questions in plain English. It explains your data. It does not give investment or financial advice.

Run it (5 minutes)

The app opens with sample data already loaded. Upload your own CSV in the sidebar to replace it.

**AI is optional.** Paste an Anthropic API key in the sidebar (or set `ANTHROPIC_API_KEY`) for free-form questions and AI-written reports. Without a key, FinPilot answers common questions and writes reports from built-in rules, so a demo never fails. Set `FINPILOT_MODEL` to change the model.

CSV format

One row per transaction. Column names are detected automatically.

Needed	Accepted headers (any case)
Date	Date, Transaction Date, Posting Date, Value Date...
Description	Description, Details, Narration, Memo, Merchant, Payee...
Amount	Amount, or separate Debit / Credit (Withdrawal / Deposit) columns

Money out is negative, money in is positive. If your card statement shows purchases as positive numbers, tick "Purchases show as positive amounts". For day-first dates (31/12/2026), tick "Dates are day-first".
