GSC Opportunity Finder — Claude Skill

A [Claude](https://claude.ai) skill that turns a raw Google Search Console (GSC) export into a prioritized, actionable SEO report.

It finds "striking distance" pages — pages ranking around position 4–20 with high impressions but underperforming CTR — pulls their live meta tags, identifies primary/secondary keywords, surfaces keyword gaps, and generates ready-to-use title/meta/H1 rewrite suggestions.

What it does

1. Ingests GSC data — Query and/or Page export (CSV/Excel) with Clicks, Impressions, CTR, Average Position.
2. Scores opportunity pages — flags pages in the "striking distance" zone (position ~4–20) where impressions are high but CTR is below the expected benchmark for that position.
3. Pulls on-page targeting — fetches each opportunity page's live , meta description, and H1.
4. Identifies keyword gaps — compares ranking queries against on-page targeting to find terms the page already earns impressions for but doesn't optimize around.
5. Generates a full report — per-page breakdown with recommendations, plus a prioritized action list, saved as a markdown file.

Installation

1. Download `gsc-opportunity-finder.skill` (or clone this repo).
2. In Claude (claude.ai or Claude Code), upload/install the .skill file per Anthropic's skill installation instructions.
3. Share your GSC export in a conversation and ask Claude to analyze it for ranking opportunities.

Usage

Just share your Search Console export and ask something like:

"Analyze this GSC data and find pages close to ranking on page 1" "Find striking distance keywords in this search console export"

The skill handles column-name normalization (GSC exports vary), CTR benchmarking by position, and outputs a full markdown report.
