AlphaJob: can an AI agent run a new grad's job search?

An AI agent built on **Claude** that runs my job search end to end. It finds and vets postings, writes a resume and cover letter for each one, scores them against the posting, fills in the application forms, messages recruiters, and logs everything in a tracker. A set of plain-English operating manuals tells it what to do, and an improvement log turns every mistake into a new rule. I check what it does at every step.

I built it right after graduating from Memorial University in Computer Science. The goal is specific: a full-time, permanent, skilled job in Canada that leads to permanent residency as fast as possible.

**This is a scrubbed public copy.** The live system and its full history are private because they hold personal data. Here, every person's name and employer is replaced with **XXXX**, and personal facts are placeholders. The code, the manuals, the routes, the dates and the outcomes are real.

What it did in 11 days (Sep 28 to Oct 8, 2026)

153 applications. 72 to Newfoundland employers, 81 across Canada, 14 tagged EDGE (AI and automation roles that get extra effort). Every one is a row in the tracker.
A tailored resume and cover letter for every application. No generic PDF went out. A keyword checker scored each pair against its posting, averaging about 86% coverage.
20+ different application systems. Workday, Greenhouse, Ashby, SuccessFactors, UKG, Oracle, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters, Dayforce, Indeed, LinkedIn Easy Apply, direct email and more. Each has its own tricks, written down in the site playbook.
