README

profile-grill

A Claude Code skill that builds a structured, boundary-clear professional profile through relentless questioning.

What it does

Most job seekers have vague, inflated, or incomplete profiles. "Familiar with C++" could mean anything. "Improved system performance" says nothing. This skill eliminates ambiguity at the source by grilling every claim until it has a clear boundary.

The output is a `profile.md` that downstream tools can consume with confidence — every claim verified, every boundary explicit, no room for hallucination.

`profile-grill` is the **first step**. It produces the single source of truth (`~/.claude/career/profile.md`) that all downstream skills read from.

How it works

Four rounds of questioning

Round What happens Output
1. Macro Portrait Big-picture questions: status, experience, domain, geography, education Skeleton profile.md
2. Experience Deep-Dive Challenge each entry across 7 dimensions (see below), most recent first Detailed experience entries with boundaries
3. Cross-Validation Skill consistency audit, growth narrative check, gap identification, overclaim detection Corrections applied
4. Career Direction Analytical output: best-fit roles, stretch directions, key gaps Career direction section appended

Seven grilling dimensions

  1. Skill Depth — "What C++ standard? Templates? RAII? Smart pointers?"
  2. Outcome Quantification — "Improved performance by how much? How did you measure it?"
  3. Role Boundaries — "Did you design the architecture or implement someone else's design?"
  4. Time Decay — "When did you last use this in production? Active / Recent / Rusty / Stale?"
  5. Expandability — "Can you talk abou
